Take That have just released an album titled Odyssey, which celebrates their 30 years of music. It includes 3 brand new songs and lots of re-arranged old hits plus bits of old interview clips. It also features guests like Barry Gibbs and Boyz II Men.

Odyssey is available on iTunes, Spotify etc.

This official video of the new version of Pray features footage of the band through the years:

For less melancholia, here's the new single Out of Our Heads:

TAKE THAT IN NUMBERS

In the UK:
* 28 top 40 singles and 17 top 5 singles
* 12 of which reached number one
* 7 number one albums
* 8 Brit Awards
* 5 Ivor Novellos

* The DVD for their The Circus tour became the fastest-selling music DVD of all time in the UK on its first day of release and stayed in the top 10 of the videos chart for over a year.
* Their Progress tour spent a record-breaking EIGHT nights at the Wembley stadium alone (the previous record was their 4 nights there with The Circus lol).
* The Progress album became the fastest selling album of the century on the first day of release.
* Take That is Amazon UK's top-selling music artist of all time.

Internationally:
* 56 number one singles
* 37 number one albums

They are famous for their amazing tours (they always sing live) that feature giant robomen, riding through the audience on an elephant made out of dancers and having a breakdance/wizard's chess battle on stage. I'm NOT exaggerating.

Here's what the Progress tour looked like:

You could also write a thesis about all the meta/transformative stuff in their shows, like this sequence of dressing up as clowns...

... to perform their first cheesy boyband dance tunes as adult men.

Or if clowns are not your thing, how about steampunk aliens?

Or maybe you just want to see the aforementioned elephant?

They've also done a Carpool Karaoke episode but for some reason that was removed from the Late Late channel so here's the Comic Relief copy so you US folks can see it!

There's a lot more to Take That, most importantly their story as a 5 -> 4 -> 5 -> 3 piece and the relationships in the band, but that is a post for another time perhaps. Now go listen to Odyssey!

TL;DR

They break records and you should give them a listen.
