The cinematic masterpiece was slated to be a DCOM but execs decided to release the film in movie theaters due to Lizzie's popularity. We saw stern Miss Ungermeyer, dumbass Ethan Craft and of course sneaky ass Paolo on the big screen and instantly fell in love with the soon to be AFI classic. Yani Gellman who played asshole Paolo, spills secrets from the set and describes working with 'walking/vacationing' queen Hilary Duff. Paolo had no idea what the fuck Lizzie McGuire was and sent in a self audition tape prior to getting the role. Paolo who's actually Canadian said he worked with dialect coaches to perfect his olive garden Italian accent. Paolo sang the ballad version of "This Is What Dreams Are Made Of", with Hilary's sister Haylie who also did the shoulder shimmy in the movie. Paolo had nothing but kind words about professional vacationer Hilary Duff, “She just brings it. Every scene, she just brings so much energy and life and charisma and that really helps you as an actor because you have so much to play off of. Kind of effortless for her, she just turns it on and goes and that really sucks you into the reality of the scene, as well, because you’re just with somebody who’s just really in the moment. So, a lot of those scenes, I’m really in the moment with her and she was really leading the way when it came to that and I was kind of playing and feeding off of her.” Director Jim Fall fought for Lizzie and Gordo's kissing scene at the end because Disney thought it was too provocative. ya but where was miranda?
