  • Former child star Macaulay Culkin more or less retired from the spotlight twenty years ago (net worth $15 million) and has given Marc Maron a candid interview on his WTF Podcast.

  • He splits his time between New York and Paris because no one bothers him in Paris. “I’m a 30-something retired person walking around with a baguette under my arm. I’m living a good life.” He also does the occasional movie or performs with his band.

  • He calls his friendship with Michael Jackson a legitimate friendship, saying "I looked at him for who he was. I was not enamored by him. We were friends." He is very protective of Jackson's daughter Paris, his goddaughter and wouldn't discuss her, only saying they were close, she was doing well, and she is "beloved" by him.

  • Culkin talks at length about his estranged father, calling him a bad, abusive man whom he has no interest in reconnecting with. He does remain close to his mother.

  • He describes hosting SNL at eleven years old and his father forcing him to do the show without cue cards, which is unheard of. His father threatened to hit him if he didn't do it.

  • He calls his parents divorce in 1994 the best thing that happened to him, because he was able to quit acting. After 1994's Richie Rich, his last big film role, he removed his parents' names from his money. He told his father and mother "I hope you made all your money, because there’s no more coming from me."
