• Last year podcaster extraordinaire Karina Longworth released a 12 episode season called Erotic '80s which focused on the way Hollywood's relationship to sex and how they portrayed it in films changed over the course of one decade. Each episode covered covered one year of the '80s and a corresponding film. Erotic '90s will be almost double the length of the '80s series, clocking in at 21 episodes.
• According to a press release the first episode, "covers the disastrous rollout of NC-17 and the evolving state of both porn and feminism at the dawn of the 90s, with topics including David Lynch, Harvey Weinstein, "pro-porn feminism", the "new morality," video stores, Magic Johnson, date rape and much more."
• The teaser confirms that the rest of the season will explore films like Pretty Woman, Thelma and Louise, Fatal Attraction, Single White Female, Showgirls, Basic Instinct, and Wild Things. It will also touch on scandals like politician Dan Quayle's vendetta against the tv show Murphy Brown and discuss celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Sharon Stone, Alicia Silverstone, Demi Moore, Madonna and Britney Spears.
• If you live in LA, Longworth and The American Cinematheque have announced a program of weekly screenings at the Los Feliz 3. The screenings start in March 28 with a screening of Philip Kaufman's Henry and June.
