Someone made a movie about what it was like growing up in suburban Ontario in the 2000shttps://t.co/p0vRTMYyLI#Ontario

"I Like Movies" will focus on a film-obsessed teenager growing up in Burlington, Ontario, and premiere at TIFF.
Lead character Lawrence dreams of going to NYU and is the "kind of guy who, when he buys a movie ticket, mentions the director's name just to show that he's there for the right reasons." He gets a part-time job at a video store to save up for his tuition.
Director Chandler Levack grew up in Burlington and says she wanted to "make Burlington feel beautiful, vivid and cinematic in all of its horrible beige waspiness." She says it bothers her when Canadian films try to hide where they're from so they can appeal to an American audience.
The film will make reference to Oliver the Jeweller, Big Shiny Tunes, and Tanner Zipchen. #iykyk

The World Premiere of Chandler Levack’s (@clevack), I LIKE MOVIES, is a touching look at film through the eyes of a teenage cinephile in early 2000s suburban Ontario, starring @neetsaiah, Romina D’Ugo, and @MeKristaBridges. #TIFF22https://t.co/aE33ev2D3ipic.twitter.com/r0Rtw6wqwi
