The singer revealed that she recently celebrated 4 years of sobriety, "There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage."
This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself. I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore.

Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted. I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor.

I can’t believe it has been 4yrs! It feels like maybe 2. I think that is a good thing. Ha. There is so much stigma around the word alcoholism or the label of an alcoholic. The real work that needed to be done was to actually accept failure, pain, brokenness, and self sabotage.

Nick Lachey Reveals He 'Never Read' Ex-Wife Jessica Simpson's Memoir: 'I Know What the Truth Is' https://t.co/596GmhI7ii
— People (@people) November 2, 2021
Also in POS news, her ex-husband Nick Lachey recently revealed to Andy Cohen that he has no plans on reading her 2020 memoir Open Book.
"You'd be shocked to hear that I have not nor will I ever read it," said Lachey after laughing at Cohen's question asking if he had read the memoir.
"Here's the thing, obviously I knew the book was coming out. I lived the book," he added. "I know what the truth is so I don't need to read it or read someone's version of a story. I know it. I lived it. So no, I never read it."
Shortly after the book came out in 2020, he said "I'm certainly happy for her and her life, I know she is happy for us," he said at the time. "There's definitely a mutual respect there, so that's, you know — obviously it was a long time ago; we've all moved on."
