- Claims are being made that Bashir poured fuel on the hot mess that was Diana and her brother, Charles Spencer, fears regarding the British Royal Family by faking and presenting documents to Diana, suggesting the royal staff was leaking information about her to the media–– and pushing her to do the interview with him as a result
- The Duke of Cambridge, in a rare pass to the press, issued a statement via Kensington Palace. He stated, "it should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and subsequent decisions taken by those in the BBC at the time
